Ferrari has shortlisted Ross Brawn to take Mattia Binotto’s post.

Last week, the Italian media reported that Binotto was about to resign his prominent position because of a deterioration in his relationship with president John Elkann.

According to a report from Italy’s La Stampa, Brawn is a candidate to take over as the new team principal.

He served as Ferrari’s technical director throughout Michael Schumacher’s era of supremacy.

He had previously proposed taking a break from Formula One at the end of 2022 rather than taking on a substantial new role at a top team, thus he is perceived as a long shot.

Andreas Seidl of McLaren, who was reportedly a contender, has reportedly decided against leaving, leaving Frederic Vasseur of Alfa Romeo as the leading contender.

In 2018, Vasseur gave Charles Leclerc his Formula One debut.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he will want a clearly defined No. 1 and No. 2 driver, which will be bad news for Carlos Sainz.

Currently, Binotto is still in his position and stated at the season’s final race that he was “relaxed” about the future.
