
The ruling party, the Nepal Congress on Monday won the first seat in the House of Representatives, as the counting of votes begin.
As reported by the Hindustan Times, the counting started at 7 am local time and will continue till 5 pm, a day after about 61 per cent polling was recorded across the Himalayan nation.
The officials of the Election Commission and the representatives of the political parties along with the media are present at the centres.
The Nepali Congress opened its account from Mustang, where its candidate Yogesh Gauchan Thakali has been elected to the House of Representatives.
To elect a 275-member House of Representatives and provincial assemblies, around 17.9 million voters were eligible to cast their votes.
